About The Event

The National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) is an annual event spearheaded by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) of the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation (MoCD). The month-long event, which was first launched in 2017, seeks to intensify the capacity building and awareness creation efforts on cybercrime/cybersecurity through the National Cybersecurity Awareness Programme dubbed, A Safer Digital Ghana.

The NCSAM 2021 event will be conducted in a hybrid format which will comprise physical engagements (under strict COVID-19 protocols) and the utilisation of available virtual platforms and media channels. This year’s event will involve the launch of a Directive for the protection of Critical Information Infrastructure (CII), the Cyber Security Authority, thought-leadership sessions, workshops, lectures, demonstrations, training sessions, and media engagements. These programmes will focus on awareness creation on cybersecurity best practices targeting the four (4) main thematic areas namely, Critical Information Infrastructure (CII), Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERT), Capacity Building and Awareness Creation (CBAC) and Child Online Protection (COP).

The event will see the participation of the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Deputy Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Minister for Energy, the First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, United States Ambassador to Ghana, Ministers and Deputy Ministers from the National Cyber Security Inter-Ministerial Advisory Council (NCSIAC), the National Cybersecurity Advisor, members of the National Cyber Security Technical Working Group (NCSTWG), representatives from government and non-government institutions as well as private sector organisations among others.
